Planned activities include live music, food, children and family games, dog contests, silent auction, raffle baskets and new this year – Vendors – all out at the beautiful 868 Estate Vineyards outside of Purcellville!

Come to Walsh Family Winery, Saturday Aug 3, from 10am-12am and get your creative juices flowing while you support a wonderful community organization. Humane Society of Loudoun County. This organization helps cats and dogs find homes, be neutered or spayed, and educate the public in pet care. They are a 100% non-profit and all funds raised go back to the animals they help. Chalk Couture is a fun and easy DIY home decor business that is literally changing the way America decorates. Theresa Rinehart, the designer, provide reusable silk screen transfers and washable or permanent chalk paste to help crafters create custom decor for their home. In this workshop there are two options, you can create a black and white sign or a door tag. The black and white sign will be stained and painted so that you just have to decorate with saying and ribbon. The door tag is 12×20 inches and you will select either white or black.
The cost of the event is $45.00 and $20.00 from each purchase will go back to Humane Society of Loudoun County. Purchase includes surface, paints, and a variety of ribbons available. Flowers will not be available. Sign up today by click this link!

Come create a unique piece of home decor for a fabulous organization! Humane Society of Loudoun County is hosting this event and $20.00 from each participant will go right back to them.
Guests will create custom home decor sign on a choice of 18″ round double sided boutique chalkboard, or a 6 1/2 x 18 1/2 double sided box frame or a 171/2 x 171/2 canvas pillow. There are over 50 different transfer designs available to create a one of a kind piece for your home or a guest. There will be three different pet options and then lots of other transfers including many from our new fall catalog!

Each Humane Society is an independent organization; “Humane Society” is just a descriptive word — like the word ‘bank’ is in US Bank and Bank of America. They are not connected to each other. It can be confusing!
Many people even mistakenly think that the Humane Society of the United States runs all humane societies. They do not! They do help animals through legislation and in disasters, but do not have a shelter themselves.
Some Humane Societies, like the Humane Society of Loudoun County (HSLC), are “limited admission”. Limited admission organizations sometimes have their animals for many months, and use foster homes. That means they do not have to euthanize animals to make room for new pets they take on. And many, like HSLC, have other programs that help the local animal population, like a pet pantry (Loudoun Pet Pantry) so families in need don’t have to surrender their pets simply because they can’t afford to feed them, partial help when medical emergencies arise, and resources for behavioral issues. The Community cat program is major part of HSLC, helping to reduce the numbers of feral cats while improving their health and quality of life.
And some Humane Societies are “open door” with animal control contracts, just like a city shelter, so they do euthanize to make room. Many “open door” humane societies run programs that have helped reduce pet overpopulation in the cities they serve. They may have the pets for many weeks, and know more about their behavior and health than a city shelter.
So it’s important to understand the nature of your local animal rescues and support them for the benefit of your community. We all work together to help animals but we are separate, independent organizations.
HSLC is partnering with Black Walnut Brewery to have a monthly Trivia Night to raise funds for our programs! Black Walnut Brewery will be donating 10% of their earnings for the night to HSLC.
HSLC will be selling donated Pizza from community partners! We will be having raffles between rounds to give away a dog basket or a cat basket each night and other HSLC merchandise.
