what is the loudoun pet pantry?

The Loudoun Pet Pantry (LPP) is a partnership between Humane Society of Loudoun County (HSLC), Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS), and Loudoun Hunger Relief (LHR) to help keep pets in loving homes by providing food supplies to families in need. HSLC helps collect and purchase dog and cat food to be packaged into “kits” that include dry and wet food and are delivered to LHR on a weekly basis where they are distributed to Loudoun families in need. The donation bags are then driven to LHR, in Leesburg, and where LHR distributes them to families in need.

Helping Keep Animals in HOmes

A family pet may be hungry or surrendered to a shelter/ rescue in the case of an unexpected medical bill or a job loss. This is an all too common story. Your support provides family pets with food and enables families to keep beloved furry family members.

How can you help?

PET FOOD Needs

LPP accepts canned and dry cat and dog food.

  • All sizes of canned food can be used.
  • Dry food must be unopened, unexpired, non-prescription adult food. We cannot use kitten, puppy, or senior food for LPP.*

*Items not meeting the LPP criteria are appreciated and will be shared with other area rescues. This includes open and expired pet food.
