Looking to Adopt an Animal?

You’ve come to the right place! The Humane Society of Loudoun County (HSLC) is a foster-based organization, meaning all of our adoptable cats and dogs live with their foster parents instead of a shelter. Begin your search for cats and dogs available for adoption today.

Benefits of Adopting Through HSLC

All pets adopted through HSLC come with the following benefits:

  • Spayed or neutered at the appropriate age. HSLC pays for the costs of the spay/neuter surgery even after adoption.
  • Current on their vaccinations.
  • Microchipped. HSLC is listed as the permanent rescue contact in case your pet becomes lost and your contact information is not current.
  • You will receive a lifetime of post-adoption support and information from the animal’s foster and HSLC volunteers.

Why Adopt?

Within the next year, millions of cats and dogs will enter shelters and rescue groups nationwide. In that time, even more people intend to bring a pet into their homes. We hope that the Humane Society of Loudoun County (HSLC) will be your first choice and preferred way to adopt an animal.

Many dogs and cats who are taken into the care of shelters and rescue groups each year find themselves homeless through no fault of their own; “moving” and “landlord issues” are the top reasons people give up their pets. This means shelters and rescues are full of loving, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and often trained pets who are just waiting to meet you!
