Parrot Heads “Party with a Purpose” for Loudoun Pet Pantry
“Paws to the left, paws to the right!” Join the Washington Area Parrot Head Club, Parrotheads of the Old Dominion and Pirates of the Potomac as they “Party with a Purpose”, Saturday, March 24th, 7pm-10pm, at the Bungalow in Chantilly, Virginia. Proceeds will benefit the Loudoun Pet Pantry in partnership with the Humane Society of Loudoun County and Loudoun County Animal Services.A $15 donation at the door or $10 with a case of canned wet food or bag of dry pet food (4-8lbs) includes a raffle, food and drink specials, silent auction, and live music from local favorites Robbie Meade & Brad Brewer.
All donations benefit the Loudoun Pet Pantry which operates through Loudoun Hunger Relief in Leesburg, Virginia. The Loudoun Pet Pantry accepts canned and dry cat and dog food. Dry food must be unopened, unexpired, non-prescription adult food. No kitten, puppy, or senior food is accepted. Due to limited storage space, only bags of dry food between 4 and 8 pounds are accepted. However, all sizes of canned food can be used. Gift cards or cash donations are always welcome.
The Humane Society of Loudoun County, Loudoun County Animal Services, and Loudoun Hunger Relief formed a partnership in the fall of 2013 to help keep pets in loving homes by providing food supplies to families in need. A family pet may be hungry or surrendered to a shelter/ rescue in the case of an unexpected medical bill or a job loss. Donations provide family pets with food and enables families to keep their beloved furry family members. In 2017 the Loudoun Pet Pantry fed over 2,450 pets with 14,410 pounds of donated pet food. The number of requests for pet food at Loudoun Hunger Relief has continued to grow and currently meets only about half of the pantry’s need.
