Be part of the team that helps manage our Volunteer Program. Manage new Volunteer Applications, coordinate and train volunteers for Programs and Events, recruit and mentor new volunteers, schedule training and orientations.
Time Requirements
5+ hours a week
Position Responsibilities
- Handle incoming online Volunteer Applications
- Handle new Volunteer Information Sheets received from events
- Reach out to potential volunteers that express interest via volunteer sites (Loudoun Cares, volunteermatch, etc)
- Add new Volunteers to the Constant Contact email list and reach out to inform of upcoming training or Orientations
- Inform other Program Coordinators of volunteers expressing interest in their programs or events
- Recruit new volunteers via Social Media
- Keep Job Postings updated and current on Volunteer recruitment sites (Loudoun Cares, Volunteermatch, Volunteer Fairfax, etc)
- Keep volunteers informed of upcoming events
- Keep volunteers informed of new volunteer opportunities
- Mentor volunteers and encourage them to get more involved
- Schedule monthly Volunteer Orientations
- Work with Volunteer Appreciation Lead on creating new ways to show appreciation and thanks to volunteers
- Maintain and update Volunteer page on website
- Use FB HSLC Volunteer group to keep volunteers informed, updated and encouraged
- Maintain and update Volunteer Handbook
- Work with Event and Adoption Coordinators to request and schedule volunteers for events
Requirements / Qualifications
- Good people and networking skills
- Good communication skills
- Computer/phone access
- Familiarity with Excel and google drive
- Ability to multitask and track/monitor multiple volunteers and events
- Able to work independently and be part of a team
