Support the organization’s mission to save animals; manage and report all financial aspects of HSLC; ensure compliance with applicable regulations; propose policies and practices; serve as a member of the Board of Directors; fulfill any other requirements of a Director and Officer
Position Responsibilities
Treasurer Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger and record entries using accrual method accounting
- Manage vendor relationships and process weekly A/P
- Develop and maintain annual budget with regular Board reporting
- Manage financial institutions relationships
- Administer investment policy
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations
- Generate and distribute Balance Sheet and P&L to Board
- File annual Federal Form 990 and Va Form 102
- Administer Liability and D&O insurance policies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and disclosures
Board Responsibilities
- Uphold the mission of HSLC and help oversee its programs
- Participate in Board meetings as a voting member
- Perform other duties as the need arises and/or as defined by the organization’s By- Laws, including Duty of Care, Loyalty and Obedience
Requirements / Qualifications
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Knowledge of QuickBooks, MS Office, Google Drive
